Waiting to board my flight to Dalian now. It’s been a long day, but moments like this make the travel feel lighter.
Across from me is a Chinese family with three kids, two young teens and a little boy, maybe five or six. That little guy walked past me with his eyebrows bouncing up and down, trying to get a reaction. I couldn’t help but laugh, he nailed it. Proof that little boys are little boys no matter what country you’re in.
What struck me most, though, was something subtle. The mom noticed her teenage son slouching as he read, and gently corrected his posture, even adjusted his legs to sit properly. That’s when I realized… all three kids were reading. No phones, no tablets, just books.
Tiger mom? Maybe. But a wise one. I saw a glimpse of Xue in her, she’s already warned me she’ll be strict. And watching this little moment, I think I just got a preview of our future. 😊
Almost there now. Next stop: Dalian.
